Grand Place, Museum of Brussels, Coudenberg

This morning we headed back to the Grand Place to see the Museum of the City of Brussels.  We used the audio guides and wandered around the galleries for a little over an hour.  Then we went out to the plaza, got a seat and had a local treat-waffles with cream and strawberries.  Is that better Brad?

We wandered home for a break, and then back out to the Coudenberg Museum.  Before the current Grand Palace existed Charles V had an old palace called Coudenberg.  It burned down, but old roads and cellars still exist as the land was extensively back-filled to create the newer palace and square.  So Coudenberg is like walking around in an underground archaeology dig.

Finally, we took a good long walk up and around St. Lambert and Ixelles sections of town behind our apartment.  We went to a restaurant down below us for our last dinner in Brussels.
